I have lost over 100lbs with the band but I am horribly stuck at 203-205lbs... it's driving me nuts! Maybe my body is sick of losing...lol I have started adding exercise daily and eating more protein. I think I will also up my water intake. How does that sounds? I can't WAIT to see onederland.... it has been YEARS and I swear I will cry the day I see 199 on the scale!!

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

I have been stuck for 8 months with no loss.  It is so frustrating.

Hey, Elena! Don't despair. Our bodies do the plateau thing periodically throughout the weight loss journey.

The important thing is to be honest with yourself about your caloric intake, make a decision to stick to a calorie goal, and add low-cal foods like veggies and salads (chew, chew, chew!) that will stretch out our calorie allowance and keep you full and not feeling deprived. Activity is also a huge part of becoming a healthier person, so if you aren't exercising, start with something both simple and amazingly good for you: walking.

I keep a diet journal, tracking both food and fluids as well as exercise, and make sure I am getting 64 oz. water and 60-75 grams of good, lean protein per day. Your body can live on quite a low calorie diet--many fresh post-ops can barely consume 500-800 calories a day--so remember that you won't perish on a lower calorie regime and your body will be forced to use excess fat for fuel. That will speed up your weight loss, too.

I broke my plateau by going away on vacation. I did a ton of walking... pushing myself and I only went to the gym once and I had been faithful to 3-4 days a week. I changed what I was eating by lowering my calories and increasing my liquids.  I walked the beach three times a week. I walked a walk along the rocky coast and back at a quick pace for me and just in general did more moving rather than the gym. I lost 11 pounds in two weeks! I hope that this will keep going since I am now home. I am excited to break the plateau! I was eating just enough calories to slow down to maintenance. Now I know I have to watch out and keep the workout at the gym more varied and keep an eye on the calories and water. :)  Keeping a journal is frustrating but I am just going to have to accept it.

So don't worry... I was .... and now the plateau is broken. Everyone here was wonderful and encouraging! We are your OH family and don't worry! It will get better :) You can do it! Don't give up!
