glad I found this forum
Wow, I never knew this forum was here. It's so nice to know that there are several people that started out just like me!!!
I started the weight loss process at 423. My surgeon required me to lose about 80lbs before he'd do the surgery. So in Novemeber of 08, I started, in earnest, trying to lose weight. Lower calorie count and exercise and in July of 09, I was 338 and able to have the RNY.
I've lose 29lbs since the surgery but all totaled, the amount is over 100lbs. YAY ME!! Life is better! I can fit behind the steering wheel of my car and in a regular theater seat..andddd..in a resturant booth!!
If I only lose down to 250lbs, I'll be happy!! Thats along way from 423!!!!!
Thank you all for posting!!

That's so cool that you have been successful both before and after surgery. I'll bet your life is better in SO many ways. I'm with you in setting a "reasonable" goal. I am hoping for 200, but would take 250 too. I just want to MOVE better and fit into the world better and have some relief for my joints. I hope I can lose enough weight to make walking not such a big strenuous painful deal.
With the recent RNY, you should be getting those pounds off pretty fast. Good luck and thanks for sharing.
You are amazing! We are at similar starting weights, although I have 10 years of age on you! But you have done phenomenally well with your loss! Congratulations - you will do great now with your loss continuing. Now you have the powerful tool I hope Ican do as well as you!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
