plastic surgery date scheduled

Hi all...it's been a while since I posted here but I still check in to see how everyone is doing. 

I scheduled my plastic surgery for 12/16 today.  I will be 25 months out at that point.  I'm expecting to be around 210 or so when I go into surgery.

I'm having a macro abdominoplasty.  Basically not the full body lift, but from mid-hip to mid-hip.  I'm also having interior/exterior thigh lipo.  I have the dreaded saddlebags where the fat has setttled.  At this point, I am in a size 16 pants and a 12/14 shirt.  I still wear shapewear to keep the thighs and stoma*****heck.

I inquired about a breast lift and because I have lost so much volume, I will be looking in to a lift/implant after I've healed from the stomach surgery.  I've been a solid D cup since I was 14 and he said if he did a breast lift I'd be a B cup and that's just not going to get it for me.

So the surgery is going to be around $10.5K and I'm going to use my 401K to pay for it.  But definitely going to put in on my AMEX so I can get miles for it!

I've decided (and the doctor agreed) not to have surgery on my arms.  I have really toned them up with the trainer workouts and for the most part, there is just a small amount of unsightly flab just outside of my armpit.  There is some wiggle there, but I'm not too concerned with it.  My deltoids, triceps and biceps have really come together and I feel good about my arms.

I haven't seen many people on the main boards who have been our size who've had PS so I'll keep you guys in the loop.  I know Shari had some PS an did really well.

 Good luck with ur plastics... and thanks for posting... i'd love to see ur b4 and afters if ur comfortable with that.. later on.. and ur right not many our size have had plastics so please keep us informed... its great that we all can share our experiences so we know what is further down the road or at least a general idea of whats to come... i know we are all different and lose different.. but his long journey is our common bond..  hugs 

Funny I was just going to come in here and post to see if anyone has had PS while still being in the 200s. So i'm very interested in your story!!!!

Where are you going to have your surgery done? I've pretty much been stalled out around 210-215 for the last 4-5 months and i don't see myself loosing anymore at this point, maybe i could if i ate better and exersiced more, but i'm having a real hard time with that right now! I know I'm bad! but with the chornic migraine going on i just can't do it.

Anyway, keep me updated.

Right now i'm at a size 18/20 all the way around. How tall are you? I'm 5 feet 5 inches and still in a DD bra size! So I'm with you there on the getting the implants if i fall below a D cup.

I don't wear shapewear, maybe i should, i think cloths would look better, but they are just to uncomfortable for me. I still feel like i have a lot of fat, but you can tell in some of my pictures i just posted that it all hangs really low and is unsightly. My thighs are such a problem!!!!

When i started this i was hoping for a bikini body, and i now realize that they may never been, but 210 is so much better then 350!!!!! so now my hopes are to be under 200 after PS. I'm still thinking of waiting till April 2010 when i'm 2 years out to do it. I figure that gives me some time to build up a case with insurance so i don't have to dip into my 401k, but if that is what i have to do, i wll.

Implants may not be necessary. Having been super busty all my life, I knew I'd never have an implant even if it left me flat-- but that wasn't the case. If you have underarm or back fat they can make a spiral flap and augment you naturallly in some cases, too. (I did not have back fat. My breasts are made from nothing but breast tissue...100% white meat! ;)

I was a 48H pre RNY, a 34 D pre-plastics, and am a full 34C now-- and they look great (I'm only 5' 5" and very small boned so they're quite good sized)-- no implants, and no "lollipop" scar-- you need a really skilled surgeon but it pays off!

I'm still losing, but the stomach is getting in the way of more vigorous activity.  I've started the couch to 5K program and am running ok, but it's running for 60 seconds, walking for 90. 

My surgery date is 12/16.  I work at a performing arts theatre and we are just swamped up till them so I'm being pretty considerate so that other people don't have to take up the slack.  I know my insurance covers no part of my surgery, but I don't really care.  I went in to this knowing I wouldn't be happy till I could get this gut gone, and no amount of weight I can lose is going to help. 

Basically, above the waist, its sagging skin that just hangs there.  Below the waist, it's a saggy mess, but pretty fatty too and I want it gone.

I was never a thin girl, but met my husband at 160. I am very active now, weight train with my trainer 3X per week and am looking forward to seeing abs and leg muscles following surgery.  I also try to do cardio 3X per week for at least 30 minutes.  Sometimes I run up and down the stairs at work, all 56 of them 8X for cardio.  That about kills me because the stairwell has not been airconditioned since we don't have many events in the summer.

My surgeon said my inner thighs are pretty much just sagging skin but he will lipo some, but he used the term "de-bulk" my outer thighs.  I'm thinking I should be able to get in to a 12 following the recovery from surgery.  And, yes, with the tummy tuck, the mons will be addressed as well.  When your body runs out of normal places to store fat, one would never think it would store it in your pubic area!

I'm not giving up on losing more weight, but I'm not going to beat myself up if I level out around 170-180.  Where my body ends up is where my body ends up.  I know I'm doing what I need to do to continue to lose weight no matter how slow it is. 

And just for comparison purposes, I was 242 in December of 2008,  I'm 224 now.  That's 18  pounds in 8 months.

Kath-- best of luck on your upcoming surgeries-- as you know, I had the breast lift, extended abdominoplasty (fleur de lis) and arm lifts, and also had the mons and upper thighs done...feel free to PM me with any questions you think of! You'll do great!!!

I am curious as to what I might need as I get down more. I know I will have to get my arms done for sure as they've always been bigger than most people's. The whole tummy tuck thing scares the crap out of me though. I've seen some pictures and it's look like they were basically cut in half. What is the pain like after a surgery like that?

Truth? Mine was excrutiating, and stayed that way a very long time.

I have my first consult next week.  I'd be happy to be the 212 that I am if this belly didn't hang to mid thigh.  Until its gone, I cannot truly revel in the success of losing 232 lbs.
