I just got my call from the doctors office... the reminder call for the consultation on Monday.   Of course, my mind turned to mush... LOL but, I asked if they require a diet of some sort.. ahead of time, and she said no.  I also asked if my insurance contacts them or me for the approval, and she said they would contact them.  She also told me that at the end of my session, I will be scheduling my appointment for the surgery!!   She said that depending on what my insurance wants, etc, it would be roughly 6-8 weeks!! I am so nervously excited!! Looks like some time in October!  (Although secretly I was hoping for sept. )

Very cool. If you think of any questions this weekend, write them on an index card. Then, right before you see the doctor, be sure you can FIND the card in your purse or pull it on out. Surgeons are notoriously in a HURRY and they want to come in and dump information on you and then leave. If you have the things written down, you guys can get a lot more communicating done quickly.

My son, the ER doc, tells me stragies he has developed for getting into and out of a room FAST. They have lots of folks to see, so you have to outsmart them.

I like the whole team concept for this wt loss surgery: we have dietitians, nurses, psychologists, and physical therapists. They all have their area of expertise.

It is true, by the way that doctors have almost NO training in nutrition. You really want a dietitian for those questions.
Food is for sissies. REAL women exist on skim milk, protein powder, broth and air.....
