General OH Questions?

I don't know who to ask this or where - so you are the lucky winners today.  :)

What does it mean when someone asks to be your friend?  And is it okay to ask to be someone's friend?  They won't get insulted or think you are a stalker or anything?

(I'm used to FaceBook where you know everyone, know what I mean?)

Also, what is an angel?  Someone offered to be my angel which sounds very nice - what is it?  LOL

 when someone asks to be ur friend on here it usually means they want to follow ur journey or if u want to ask someone its because they inspire u and u want to follow theirs and keep up with blogs etc..  least thats how it is for me.. 
and an angel is someone who keeps close personal touch with u through out ur journey especially surgery..  phone calls etc... checking in with u.. so ur not alone... and will sometimes also update the board and let everyone know how ur doing...
