I started bawling in Kmart
So I have been cruising thrift stores and cheap clothing stores on my lunch breaks. Today I was in kmart and decided to try on some 3x tops to check length to see if I could wear them in the fall. The first top I tried on fit me! I started bawling. Their stuff used to run so small it never occured to me to try. Of course the others were too small, and I'm just barely too fat for their big man belts. But ihave two new 3x shirts!!!! I'm so... In disbelief.
THAT IS SO WONDERFUL. WHAT A GREAT FEELING THAT HAD TO BE. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THEY WILL ALL FIT YOU AND THE ONES YOU BOUGHT WILL BE TOO BIG. THE THRIFT STORES ARE PROBALBY YOUR BEST BET SINCE YOU WILL OUTSHRINK YOUR CLOTHES SO FAST..
ENJOY THE WOW MOMENT. CONGRATULATIONS.

In Order To Change...a Caterpillar must have the faith of a Butterfly
VERY nice. 3X is almost "regular person size" in my book. Pretty soon you'll be in clothes with NO X's!! (OK, this will take a little time, but you are headed in that direction). CONGRATULATIONS. Enjoy.
I think if I ever get to shop in regular clothing stores again, I'll just be overwhelmed with all the CHOICES. I won't know where to start. It will be a good problem to have!!

That's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy for you.
It's neat to be able to wear something from a "normal" store again.
I don't think I could handle clothes shopping in Kmart again. When I think of my most frustrating clothing moments, they were pretty much all in Kmart. If I went in there now and found something cute that fit, I'd start bawling too.
I remember going school shopping there when I was going into 7th or 8th grade. I'd go into the fitting room and the biggest size they had was too small (can't remember the number), but I'd squeeze myself in and tell myself I'd lose the weight after a couple weeks of P.E. It never worked.
So I'd have this little stack of too-small jeans that got washed once and never worn. And I had one pair of "expensive" jeans that we'd bought at the fat lady store that actually fit. I'd wash them every night and eventually have to fix the inside of the thighs by whatever means necessary: sewing, iron on patches, cloth patches, staples, etc. I think I duct taped them once -- but the tape ended up sticking to my thighs.
Ugh. I'm so glad that now I'm not as poor as I was growing up.

One food makes you larger, and one food makes you small...
