Followup w surgeon Weds
He's a supercompetent surgeon -- writes journal articles on laparoscopic surgeries -- just has zero bedside manner. And I truly believe that he thinks everyone should lose in the exact same manner -- regardless of your starting BMI, health issues, etc. I'm sorry, I have about 200 pounds to lose. I'm not going to lose it like someone who only has to lose 120.
I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far. I don't know why I'm getting anxious about this. I'm just really hoping that I see one of his associate doctors rather than him.

Surgeons want their statistics to outshine every other surgeon in the world so that may be part of how he got his reputation. Keep your head up and your answers honest. I would highly recommend that you have a general idea of the amount of protein and calories you are currently taking (especially what you had the day before your appointment) because I've heard some docs ask for specific numbers and if you don't have them they get kind of snappy.
Your relationship with this guy and his group will only be for a few years. You will eventually be moved back to your primary unless you develop a problem down the line.
Keep your head up and know that you have done a wonderful job so far. So you could have made a better choice here or gone on a walk there, the reality is that you are living and working with your tool and even if you never get to 120lbs, you will still be MUCH healthier and MUCH happier than you ever were at 400lbs.
