Annual Fashion Show

Every year, our surgeon has a fashion show for his patients.  Anyone can be in it, you just have to ask.  So I submitted my name this year and it's been a long time since I saw my BEFORE picture and it was displayed on this giant screen.  Talk about LARGER THAN LIFE, and it was in more ways than one!

I'm still pushing exercise as a way to get the most out of this surgery and they actually let us speak to the audience if we wanted to and I gave my pep talk and dispelled the dreaded "18 month window" that our surgeon talks about.

After the show, someone from the hospital's marketing department approached me about being in one of their commercials!  I'm the biggest ham and I love attention, so I was really excited.  Here's a pic of me tonight and I brought out my old jeans to show for inspiration...

Kathy,

Congrats on your great loss!!   I totally understand the 18 month stuff..   I have just hit the 15 month mark, and hope to get more off because I too am afraid of the 18 month mark of no more loss.  I so want to lose some more of this belly I have.

I am sure that were a great inspiration to everyone there.  I hope you get to be in the commercial!!!  You are a true beauty!!!

You look wonderful!!!  I went on your profile and saw your before pics.  You have done an awesome job!!!

I know what you mean about the before pic.  When I went to my 1 year follow up (exactly 1 month ago today), I have some but am not techno enough to get them on my profile.  I have to work on that.  My surgeon, however, took the pic and after I got weighed, the PA gave it to me along with my after before my surgeon came in.  I just stared at it for about 5 minutes and it was like looking at a different person.  I did some good retail therapy after my visit.

I did save a pair of my old jeans (actually the size 34 that became too tight but I could wear after losing 50 pounds).  I also saved a Roamans 6x "lounger" that I think I can fit another person into.

You have come a long way--love the outfit.
