waiting on the insurance now...

I had my appointment to see the surgeon on Monday. I really like him and I am very impressed. I have signed all the papers and now my file has been sent off to the insurance. Now comes the part of the waiting game. I am so scared and nervous. This is where I was 5 years ago and so excited and got denied and never got to have the surgery. I am so scared I cant imagine being turned down now.I have almost all the co morbidities and a BMI of 54.. I started with a BMI of 63 before the 6 month diet..  But I know it can happen. I am going to pray that I get an approval this time with out any problems.. Please pray with me. I cant have gone through 5 years of fighting and all this work to be denied again..

I have BCBS of ILLINOIS and they do cover the surgery... Please pray with me that they approve mine..

I'll be praying.  I know how frustrating it is.  It took me five years of frustrations but I finally had my surgery last Wednesday (7-15) and my insurance was still not approved.  I paid for my surgery up front and received a substantial discount from the hospital.  Today, I received the approval from the insurance company.  I am so glad I went ahead and did it.  Now the hospital will reimburse us and it is a big load off of my mind and pocketbook.

I am so glad that you got the surgery.. I wish I had a way to pay for mine. I would have done it 5 years ago before I got in such bad health. I am really praying it goes through this time. I am so glad that the approval letter came for you and that you will get reimbursed.. I will pray for you to recover quickly and do well with the surgery. Thank you for the prayers.

I couldn't afford it either but I couldn't afford not to.  I put it on a credit card with a big prayer that the insurance would finally approve and they did.

I am glad they approved it so that you could pay off that credit card. We don't have any credit cards. We got so far in debt with themyears ago.. We now buy everything with cash or debit card which is the same as ca**** is hard not to use credit cards and we do without a lot of times. But in the end we will be better off. We are 50 now and would like to retire debt free. I hope we make it. We do not have a big retirement so we will depend on social security(that is scarry) I have not woked in years so I dont qualify for social security. I will have to draw off of his.. If that is not around we may not ever get to retire.. Well so much for rambling on.. Sorry..  I am just so glad it all worked out for you and you got the surgery.. Now you will be around to enjoy retirement. Thats what I want is to be here to enjoy it.

I'm waiting on insurance too! We just submitted for approval. Crosses my fingers for and with both you and I!

I have been approved with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I am waiting now to see what Health Alliance is going to do. They said I may know by the end of the week. I hope they dont make me go to one of theri doctors and hospitals. I just got very comfortable with this one.
