I need to loose 50 pounds by Dec-any advice?
I started running and I was amazed at the change in my endurance, my muscle definition, and overall body shape. There's a great 8-week beginner's running program online at Runningplanet.com. All you need is a good pair of shoes and a good job bra!
Take your current weight, divide it by 2.2, and you'll get a rough number for how many protein grams you should shoot for every day. I also eat at least one salad a day and it makes me feel great! You can get the Very Veggie salad in a bag, some grape tomatoes, and maybe slice some cucumber on top, drizzle 2 tablespoons of your favorite dressing on top, and you're good to go. You can pre-cook chicken, cut it into cubes, and have it on your salad, too! Since after WLS, we have to chew and chew and chew and chew, the meal takes up some time, plus it is much-needed roughage, and is mostly water, so is very low in calories.
If you've gotten back into the soda habit, drop it! Drop any drink that has calories, except maybe nonfat milk! :)
Weigh yourself every week to keep track. Also, I recommend keeping a diet journal. It keeps me accountable, especially if I have a treat or two! Then you can make a better choice for the next snack or meal. I've lost more than 140 pounds and I have about 15 pounds to go before I reach my goal weight. But the running makes me feel like I am doing something positive for my health, and reaching for a goal. Try it! You might like it!
