Hi all, its been a while since I posted on here. I see a lot of new faces, and I wish you all the best of luck, whatever phase of this journey you are at right now.

Just an update for me - I'm doing ok, I haven't lost as much as I wanted but I also cannot honestly I've put in 100% effort these last few months. I lost down to 240, making 200lbs total, which was wonderful. I bounce around in the 240-250 range, depending on time of the month, swelling, eating habits, exercise habits. It hasn't been hard to maintain here but it has been very hard to lose anymore. I hope that once I finish my dissertation and find a job that requires me to be on my feet instead of at a desk it will help. I am mediocre at best about exercise, but I am proud of how far I've come. I can wear 18s.. I haven't worn 18s since.. I honestly don't know.. 6th grade? I can't remember ever not seeing a 2 or 3 in front of my size.

I still hope to lose another 50, I can do it, I just have to find it within myself and stop being afraid of life. I am struggling with social anxiety issues, depression to some extent, but mostly just discomfort at attention.. at being regarded as human basically, at being noticed.

It will be two years Aug 6 - I've come a long way, but the journey never ends. To people early on in this process, the honeymoon does fade. I don't want to be negative, I just want to say that because I want you to be prepared. It isn't easy forever, there are bumps in the road, but always try to remember that you deserve to put yourself first, love yourself, take care of yourself. You are more important than food, and there is comfort to be had elsewhere if you are willing to look for it. Don't be scared like I have been.

I wish you all the best and strongly urge you to take your vitamins, the BEST you can afford. Take them religiously, get your regular blood work, drink drink drink, protein first, take charge of your life and be strong. Much love!

You have definitely done a great job.  Keep your head held high you can loose that last little bit.  You are truly an inspiration to everyone!!

I totally understand your struggles.  I have not been that diligent with my exercise as of late, and totally blame that on my stall.  I am just 14 months out and still want to lose another 40# or so.

Good luck with your dissertation, I am sure you will do great!!

Peggy,

Thank you. Those things are always nice to hear, as you have or will find out from people just starting out who look to you, no doubt. The nature of this board is to take and give what you need when you need it, pass on the help, information, support, etc... and eventually people move on. We are all finding new lives after all :) Most of my inspirations don't post any longer but I'll try to look in more often. I've been on the pregnancy after wls board a bit more than here - off of birth control now but not actively trying to conceive yet, more just letting nature take its course at the moment. If it happens, fantastic, if not, that's probabaly a good thing too.

All the best!
