Does anyone know how long after the surgery are you at risk for gallstones?

I am not sure of the actual time frame but I can tell you what is going on with me.. I had RNY
less then a year ago and I am going in for the removal of my gallbladder on the 29th :)
After a lot of research I realize I should have had them just take it out. I have two major strikes on this one.  I have a family history and two I have lost 200 lbs since my surgery. So anytime you loose weight you become at risk according to what I read even if you don't have RNY...
Good Luck!

Thank you for your feedback.  Were the only symptoms you had was the pain from the stones?? Or should I be looking out for something else.

Well in my case it was pain... I was out walking and the pain was so sharp it made me
almost fall to the ground. I thought I was going to have to crawl home...
But there are many ways people feel them some feel them in there chest or side..
Depends on the person. I do have a family history of them also so the surgon
didn't seem to think that any weight loss would have mattered or could really
be taken into play.. You can reseach it on the web as it is a very common situation...
Let me know if I didn't give enough info...
