Just found this board and am excited that there is a place for people with higher BMI's. I was actually surprised to find so many OH'rs had starting BMI's in the 30's!

Anyways, I'm a pre-op who's working on losing the 10% so I can get a date and though I have ups and downs I think I'm on my way to living the healthy life that I've always dreamed of.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Welcome!

When I first started on OH it was a shock to me that there were so many lightweights as well.

Good luck on getting your 10 percent.

Take care.

I hear you, welcome and good luck loosing the 10%.  It is a good test and helps you to ready yourself for the life post op.  I am so glad that I started the exercise habits and started adjusting my thinking prior to surgery.  It has made the post op that much easier.

Good luck!

Welcome to the board..  the pre-op is about much more the just the 10% its about teaching ur self control and skills to help u post-op.. it starts u down a healthier path.. im so glad i was ina 6month pre-op program that taught me so much an prepared me for post-op life.. its all about the baby steps... u've stepped forward into a journey of a life time.. journal starting now if u havent started already.. so u can look back an see how far u have came... it will help when u need it the most.. measure urself... an save those for future reference... u can even keep them in a log here under health tracker.. i was suprised at all the 30 an under bmi's as well.. i was so happy when i found this board... every one here sooooooooo knows where im coming from.. an the strength & dedication it takes to walk a day in our lives.. smaller ppl think they know but they havent a clue really.. not that they dont have their own struggles but its just not compariable... good luck with ur pre-op an keep us posted... dont hesitate to share ur thoughts and feelings.. someone will always have some amazing insight or prospective that might help..

Welcome,

This is a great board!!! Having others who start with a high BMI to talk to really helps.  We all understand the struggles each other has to go through.

Good luck in your 10% loss!!  Take your pics now too...you will want some to compare to in the future.

Good luck

Caroline

Welcome to the board, I know how you feel I had to go through alot to get surgery. I was at 57 BMI and now in my low 40's.

Oh I hope to be down to an overweight BMI, as opposed to a super morbid obese one- someday!
