Goiter anyone?

I just found out this week that I have a goiter and am scheduled to see a specialist in the next couple of weeks.  My doctor told me absolutely nothing about it.  I've done a little research online and I 'm just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.  What should I expect as far as testing, treatments, etc?

Obviously, you need to see a specialist as this is just a forum for discussion.
 
I have a cousin who is also obese.  She had what they call cushings disease. It seems to be a tumor on the pituitary gland. She had surgery to remove the tumor.

I know nothing about the testing etc. but one thing I do know.........until you know what it is exactly........don't drive your self crazy and stress out.
