I went to the doctors today and my BMI is now officially over 50. I know that many can relate to the graduate rise of watching the numbers climb. When I first started on my Weight loss surgery journey 8 years ago, My BMI was barely 40.

I know I am really on the right track and have the right insurance now that we no longer have small group. So while I find relief that I am moving forward to a healthier life through WLS... I was still distraught to see the numbers on the scale and the increased BMI.

Anyone relate?

Yes, I can relate to being shocked by my BMI.  Mine was much higher than yours.  I was so depressed, but once I made up my mind to have the surgery, I was much happier just knowing I was going to take control of my life again.  I will say that for me, the WLS was the best thing I could have done!  I hope everything goes well for you.
