Please talk me through this stall!
At least I hope it's just a stall.
I'm down 100 pounds in 7.5 months. It's been fairly steady until this month. I've been up and down the same 4 pounds for the past 3 weeks.
Is this the end?
I'm down 50% of my excess weight. This is the low end of the "success prediction" from my doctors office. I can eat much more now and a larger variety of food. My hunger has returned. I'm still doing great getting in all of my protein, water and vitamins, just concerned I may be consuming too many calories (up to 1800 some days).
Did any of you hit major stalls at this point in your journey? Was this the end for any of you? I'm actually very happy with my weight loss so far and I feel great, I'm just hoping another 50 pounds will come off.

Our surgery dates are very close and I have been stalled for the past 4 weeks. I am only consuming 850 - 950 calories per day and my suregon wants me to up them to at least 1200. I get all of my protein, all of my vitamins, fluids, and workout 3 hrs/wk with a trainer then supplement inbetween with a class or a walk. The nurse told me to change up my routine also, what I eat, exercise, etc. She said sometimes just changing little things can help.
I am hoping this is not the end for me, although somedays it feels like it. I am still losing inches because my clothes are getting bigger. If I were you, I would call your suregons office and talk to your nutritionist and see what they have to say.
Good luck.

At 7.5 months out you are not done losing! How many calories are reccomended for you at this time? Are you watching your simple carbs? As the other poster said, shake things up a bit. Track your food on one of the programs. It is usual to ebb and flow with our weight loss. You can do it. Loris

Hi!
Our surgeries were within weeks of each other. I too have lost 100+ lbs and hit stalls occassionally. Sometimes, I might go two or three weeks with no lbs lost but during that time I lose inches. Then all of a sudden, the next week I lose 5 to 7 lbs. I assure you this is not the end. My surgeon told me to expect to lose steadily for up to 18 months and some people lose even longer. So, stay positive and know it will start again. And like the other posters said, change it up a little & definitely track what you eat.

I haven't had my surgery yet but I was just told about this during my Bypass Class. We were told that when you're closing in on a year a lot of people slow down their weight loss or may even start gaining. They said there's a reason for it.... activity level. Boosting up the work outs will definitely rev up the metabolism and help burn those calories... though 1800 a day sounds like a lot to me for post surgery.
