Thank You!!!

 Thank You to all of the people who advised me against the Lap Band surgery because of my BMI being over 50. After some serious (multi hour lol) research sessions, I've decided that the band isn't for me.  I'm not focusing my attention on either the Duodenal Switch or the Gastric Sleeve. I'm only doing this once, so I have to get it right the first time. I just had a feeling in my heart that the band wasn't the best choice for me. 

Does anyone have any success or failure stories of the Duodenal Switch or the Gastric Sleeve? I'm making my pro/con list for both & I need some help!!!

Hi Erika,

Congrats on your decision.. I think you will be much happier with your success with a WLS other than the band.  You might want to check out the DS board... the folks over there can give you lots of info on that surgery.

I had the RNY, so if you have any questions about that one I would be more than happy to try to answer them.

I would just be honest with your surgeon and tell him/her that you don't think the band will work for you.  Do you have to find another surgeon, or do they do the other WLS as well?
