Oops! I posted this on Tuesday's gym thread by accident! My bad.
I spent 6 hours digging and spreading poop and lugging bricks around my new veggie garden! I doubled my growing area. Now if it would just warm up I would get everything out of the mini greenhouse and in the ground. I have to get a couple more bags of mulch tomorrow, it looks awsome and I don't want to leave the area exposed to weed seeds.
LOTS OF MULCH!

I made hula hoop hot houses last month, they are off now but they really got my onions growing fast. I just bought three $1 hula hoops, opened them up and stck 'em over the rows, then covered the whole thing with a plastic 99 cent clear painting tarp, doubled... secured with small 12/ $1.00 hair claw clips. I put bricks on the edge of the plastic to keep it from blowing away. Cheap and effective. looked ghetto though...lol.
Hey, low-cost ain't nothin' to sneeze at. Great idea. Spring comes early to Oregon, but it takes a while for the soil to warm here as opposed to back in PA, as we still are in the rainy season. My Sechel pear is in bloom. I'm late on my lettuce, peas & spinach. Maybe I'll just plant root vegs as that is the moon phase right now.

We should start a gardening thread! I think that would have to go in "OFF TOPIC" though, and frankly the "Off topic" folks scare me. lol.
I am cutting my tater's today, so they can dry out for a couple days before I plant them. I just finished transplanting another 72 marigold sproutlings (made up word) into little cells. Thy look nice around the edges of my raised beds. I made them out of cinder blocks and plant a marigold in each block-hole.
Yay spring!
PS ~ I scored three bags of mulch and one more manure that were ripped open for $1.27 ea at Lowes today. Woot woot!
