Happy Easter!

I went to Sunrise Service and then our church breakfast then I decided to go to regular service later!  It's a beautiful day!  So glad Spring is finally here!

We aren't having a candy problem at our house!  My kids are 17 and 18 and they said they're too old for baskets, I usually do a family basket tray on the table but since I am not eating candy I didn't do that either.  Right now they are coloring eggs with a couple of their friends.  Soon we'll have dinner and then go play volleyball with the neighbor's!

I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Easter!

Hope you all had a very Happy Easter/Passover! I kinda mourned the absence of the Greek Easter dinner we usually make for the family...roasted leg of lamb, pastitsio (Greek version of lasagna, but with white cheese sauce), and the sides....because I'm only 11 days out and on liquids, we didn't celebrate this year. But my mind sure tried to, lamenting the fact that purees/mushies don't start til Thursday but if I could have them, I'd have pureed some lamb. My sick mind also fleetingly thought about pureed sugarfree jellybeans, and I don't even like regular jellybeans! I'm a freak for fine chocolate, so I'm craving milk, dark, peanut butter eggs....ok, enoough!

Sorry about that, I realize this is a site for support and I don't need to be glorifying foods. It was a tough day to get through, though, with my vivid imagination and flavor-starved tastebuds. But it's coming to a close, and next Easter will be different.

NEVER.  Not mine anyway.

Happpy Easter friends!       :)       :)      :)
I made it through dinner with my cottage cheese and pineapple and strawberry/mango,melon salad and 1/2 a pierogi.  I wanted some jelly beans so bad today.  I am home again in my candy free lair so I'm safe from their powers.  *WHEW*

Happy Easter to everyone here!!!

I had a good day, spent with the family.  Had a little ham, corn & green beans.  Stayed away from the home made mashed potatoes & mac n cheese.

I did falter and have 2 small chocolate eggs that my niece wanted to share with me..   Oh well I won't kill me.  I also let myself have a little treat!!!!  Some fresh pineapple...thought it was better than some other rich dessert... and boy was it yummy!!!

I gave my niece & nephew a basket with only one small chocolate bunny in it, and filled it with other goodies, books, small toys and stuff 1 game each!!   I really want to try to get them to realize that you don't need lots of sweets/candy at the holidays!!!

Happy Bunny Day to all

Happy Easter to all! It was a wonderful day for me too! I stayed home from the sunrise service because they were serving breakfast afterward... lead me not into temptation!

We went to luch with my parents and I had grilled chicken, and applesauce. For dinner I had more of the leftover grilled chicken. I'm a cheap date and my dinner lasts for three!

Then we visited with my sister-in-law and our neices and great nephews! They were having a seasonal favorite dessert cake and I was not tempted! They were so wonderful and understand and compassionate and encouraging! The noticed how loose the outfit I had on was. I actually wore the outfit I wore to my daughter's wedding in July of 2007... I figured it was pink and pretty and Easter was the perfect day for it before it is way way too big to wear! :)

This was the best Easter in  a long long time!

I hope you all had the same great day!

Happy Easter. I hope everyone had a nice time. I am not religious but I always enjoy a nice spring celebration, spending time with family, and cooking. I still love to cook and to feed my loved ones. That will never change - it was so nice to have more than just my husband to cook for!

I made dinner for the family (we have some family visiting from Rochester). We had ham, mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus and roasted pineapple (and dinner rolls). I had a little of everything except the rolls, and then more asparagus and pineapple later. The fresh pineapple I bought was just absolutely divine, so sweet and almost vanilla-flavored.

There was candy and I did have a very small amount and since it was the super sweet milk chocolate variety I got sleepy from even just that little bit. I do not do sugar-free but I also don't generally keep it around or indulge in it often because even if I don't eat enough to dump, it puts me into a coma. If I want a sweet treat I prefer a little honey in my tea or some fruit or a single piece of very dark chocolate. Its amazing how little power sugar has over me now when it used to be a constant need. Bread and tortilla chips, on the other hand, still call my name and I must be VERY careful not to fall into their trap. I am so thankful that I dump and so thankful for my RNY for helping me take some semblance of control.

Happy Easter Everyone!!

No candy for me.  I hosted dinner this year, so I could keep control of what was put on the table.  We had ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans cooked in evoo and garlic, rolls, some of Lesley's yummie Eater pie, and fruit salad with sf lemon mousse.  It was nice to enjoy the company rather than being so focused on the food.  My son got to enjoy his basket of toys and some candy and I get to enjoy my new charm DH bought me from Tiffany & Co - WOOO HOOO!!

had a wonderful Easter and so far of all the holidays the food at this one is the most difficult for me to digest...

Way to fat laden...lamb is tough for me to digest, pizzaghaina is full of ham and salami another no no for me, the lasagna was the easiest for me to digest...

but you know, I did not mind, I paid no attention to the food, I did pay alot of attention to the family probably for the first time ever....

I am finding that the farther out from surgery I go the less I care about the food in front of me...

I had an AWFUL time. The fam bought candy starting with Palm Sunday. I started snitching then and only this week am stabilizing again. I can't have that stuff in the house yet. I can stay away from jelly beans, peeps and choc rabits. The malted milk eggs are my downfall.

I need my family to help me and not bring that stuff into the house.
