I dont have any of those problems but know of others who have posted on other boards who do.  Try reading up on the Vagus Nerve and the complications to it after WLS.  It's quite interesting.

Hope you get better and its nothing serious.

Huge hugs,
Tracy

I have fainted several times and come close to fainting several more times since surgery - and once was after throwing up. Its likely to be vagus nerve related, or orthostatic hypotension, or possibly low blood sugar or dehydration (or a combination). If it continues to happen see your doctor. I don't think its uncommon among post-ops, especially during the rapid weight loss phase, but its also not normal to faint a lot OR to throw up a lot. Getting sick to your stomach frequently to the point of throwing up is something you might want to consider talking to your surgeon about - he/she might be able to pinpoint something your are doing wrong or a physical issue and help you.

I still get dizzy fairly frequently but the faintness has pretty much stopped.

9 months post op here and been having some weird episodes of tunnel vision and nearly passing out. We have not been able to diagnose me yet, they are thinking reactive hypoglycemia or possible low blood preassure, kind of a wait and see kind of thing...

getting enough fluids and my blood work is fine no deficinecies...someone just turned me on to getting my magnesium checked...

I have had fainting spells, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tunnel vision, and heart palpitations.  All this was 4 years before my surgery though.  I have a very unusual condition called Nuercardiogenic Syncope (NCS).  I went through every test under the sun, and the doctor's could not figure out what was wrong with me.  They basically said it was in my head, because they could not medically find anything wrong.  I knew it was NOT in my head, and I went to another doctor, who ordered a Tilt Table test.  The test finally showed what was wrong with me.  Here is a link to this condition.  http://www.dinet.org/NCS/ncs.htm#symptoms    For me, I was not able to function I was so dizzy, but everyone is different.  I am on medication for it now, but occasionally still get dizzy, or have "foggy" days where I can't focus my vision very well.   If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to try to answer them.
