Mom and I both got Jury Duty summons yesterday. We have to report same day, same court, how weird is that? It's not like we live in the same city or have the same last name and LA County has a ton of courts. Of course she won't be going for medical reasons (but she did wonder for a bit how she was going to get there and back) and I don't have to since it hasn't even been a full year since I last served.

Pre B - 1/2 SF NF BSC Latte

B - 2 ham/cheese/veggies bites

S - Greek yogurt

L - chicken Cesar salad

S - plums, string cheese

D - turkey breast, steamed veggies, 1 reduced fat crescent roll

I have been fortunate that every time I've been called in for jury duty I was a full-time student. I might miss those days! Its not so much that I am against jury duty, its more that, at least in San Antonio and I'd imagine in many other places, its a real pain in the butt to get there and park and find the place and all of that. And then you sit there all day only to end up not being on a jury.

B - half a whole wheat croissant, 1 serving ham, 1 slice smoked gouda

S - V-8

L - 1/2 chicken breast (blackened) and a salad (1c spinach, 1/2 avocado, 1 small tomato, 1/4c mozzarella, light italian dressing)

D - not sure, maybe the other half of the chicken breast with more salad or veggies, maybe some soup - its rainy

S - mango!

I served on a grand jury 3 years ago -- every Friday for 16 weeks, just issuing indictments all day -- and I never want to do that again!  I have moved to another county with far less crime since then, but still, I don't want to go that again.

I am having one of those days where food seems completely repulsive to me, and I feel a little nauseous just thinking about it.  All I've had today are protein shakes.  I do plan on having some food later today, but if I'm still nauseated at the thought of food, I may just stick with the protein shakes.  Here's the plan:

B- Syntha-6 moccachino mixed with coffee

L- Fuzzy Navel nectar mixed with crystal light

s- half a Supreme Protein bar

D- chicken with three pepper balsamic sauce

S- ricotta with SF cinnamon dolce syrup

I have never been called to jury duty...

Can anyone give me any tips on this menu from today? Still less than a week out - can tell you I won't eat the soup from dinner again, it hasn't set too well and now I feel "fuller than full" after about an hour.

PreB: Cottage Cheese - Breakstone's 2% milk fat - about 1/2 cup - couldn't sleep and was starvring at 4am.
B: One scrambled egg, a tbsp of 1% milk, a tbsp of 2% milkfat kraft shredded cheese
S:  Sugar Free Popsicle
L: Cottage Cheese - same as earlier
S: Sugar Free Popspicle, 5.5oz can of tomato juice (not at the same time!)
D - Chicken pot pie soup pureed with most of the noodles removed (1/3 cup)

I do know I need to get my protein up.  I just haven't been able to stomach milk or the protein today... I did dump half of two of them out yesterday, today I just tried to eat more cottage cheese and egg...  Will try for a half of a shake tonight before I bed I think!

All I can say is lucky you! I was on liquids for the first 2 weeks, then pureed for the next two weeks.

I don't think you should worry about getting in more protein right now. Just follow your Dr's rules. Your nerves are healing so take it easy.

Hi, that sounds about right for what I was able to eat at one week out.  How are you doing with drinking?  I still don't get enough fluid into me at 4 weeks out.  One way I found to up my protein was Isopure drinks.  You can get them at GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.  They're kind of like Snapple and have 40g of protein!  Plus, they probably can count towards your fluids.  I couldn't stand the protein shakes, so these were a godsend to me.  Good luck :o)

I think I will go looking for them today if I feel up to getting out later... I was planning to head to Rite Aid and maybe their GNC section will have some of them!

I am getting about 50oz of liquid, just can't get over the 64 hump!  Still working on getting enough protein as well... getting tired of cottage cheese, and making scrambled eggs for one isn't easy!
