She's hanging in there. She's unable to get around on her own,she needs help getting up and down and has fallen a few times so now has decided to not even try if no one is around.
She's still tough enough to say she doesn't want anyone staying at night. We go over for dinner and then help her get into bed, then in the morning I go back and get her up. She has a home health aide and lots of friends that come in during the week to help. It's working for all of us for right now. If she doesn't feel good and wants me to stay she tells me and of course I do.
The Dr came out last Friday and she asked "how much longer?" like she always does, he said no one knows, it could be months or years, it all depends on her body and when God decides it's time.
I guess since I'm there so much I notice the little things. Her memory isn't what it used to be, and her handwriting has gone from beautiful to almost unreadable, something that really bothers her.
One thing I find really funny, my Mom never liked sweets before, she was more a carb person. Now she can't seem to get enough sweets in. She's always asking for dessert. Luckily her blood sugars are very normal, she was at one point on 4 insulin shots a day, now nothing.
Thanks for asking, and sorry for the rambling ...
