Hello Friends..I've Been MIA lol
Sorry to have been away so long, but to catch up...I'm now almost 16 months out with a total loss of 143.5 lbs, which is just a touch below my personal goal I set for myself.
I am writing mostly to encourage those who need to see how sticking to a permanent change of lifestyle makes the tool of surgery work. I eat completely different than I ever have in my life, healthy, 3 meals and 1 snack per day and I (most days) get in a minimum of 64 oz water each day. I am no saint...I still try things new that aren't necessarily nutritious, but I find once I get the taste, its enough, so its more in my head than anything else. I made a committment to better health and made THAT my priority ovr food. I actually find it fun (since I love to cook) to search out new recipes to replace the older fat & sugar laden ones I used to cook. Good food does not have to taste bad.
I am happy with my success and feeling wonderful. I did have an issue with kidney stones (which were present before my RNY) and had them surgically removed from one side and I go back in the hospital on Monday to have the other side done. I had to be off my vitamins/supplements for a week before the surgery per my MD, and found that I was weak as a kitten after until I could build them back up in my system again. So that just goes to show they do help and I am steadfast about taking them EVERY day. I'm not looking forward to more surgery, but at least this is the last time and I can recover and get back on my exercise regimen. I actually miss it! LOL
Glad to see alot of familiar faces on here and positive results. Way to Go! HUGS to all Jeanine
