NSV and observation
This weekend the hubby and I were out and about. I was wearing a light sweater and was freezing!! He had on his normal long sleeve shirt and turtleneck and he was carrying his light corduroy jacket. all of the sudden it hit me that I could probably put on his jacket. Duh!!! So I asked him for his jacket and the dang thing fit me!!! It just felt really weird to wear his clothes.
Yesterday after church we went to a buffet style place with friends. This was my first buffet visit since surgery. It sucked that I had to pay $12 for my meal even though I had about 3 ounces of turkey and two bites of a potato! And it was weird watching people around me consume 3-4 plates of food without blinking. Even though I was always one of the biggest people in a group when we went to these type of places, I never ate that much food. And watching it after surgery was really surreal!

I am used to it now, but I have to agree. For months after surgery, I was in awe of the amount of food people ate. Now I am more aware of people eating unhealthy food. I just want to walk over and say, don't eat that it is poison for your body, but since I know I would have never wanted to hear that when I was eating those same things, I don't say anything.
Congrats on hubby's jacket. It's really amazing when we realize we are the same size as someone we see as normal.
Re mass consumption of food, I know what you mean. We have a AYCE Chinese place that we go occasionally. Even before I started MF I tried to stick with protein & vegs and stay away from the egg rolls , potstickers and crab puffs etc. To see a person carrying 2 plates piled high with greasy fried food roils my tummy. Back 'em up to the trough!
On a sort or related topic, is anyone else bothered bu the word "Feed", as in "Pizza Feed" when the bosses buy lunch for the dept. I'd much rather see it called a "Pizza Lunch" than a "Feed." Or am I just over-sensitive? It makes me feel like we are cattle.
And that's not even adding in the sicko connection of the Feeder-Feedee culture (shudder).

Congrats on your NSV
You know what really gets me? Portion sizes and choices for kids meals. Ok, a little different then buffets. My dad LOVED buffets and would force us to eat until we wanted to puke to "get our moneys worth". What a nightmare. But back to kids meals. They make me so mad. You can be at a decent place that offers healthy meals for adults but they always offer mac and fries or fried chicken and fries. WTF?!?! Fries? Fried chicken? Come on? Why? Why cant they offer grilled chicken and veggies. Fine, offer a dip with them. Get creative! Where is it written that the only way to please kids with with fries? ANd HUGE piles too?? Sorry, thats my soapbox
