ok so for  past year or so i have been just mostly sponge bathing since we moved down stairs(couldnt make it up an down any longer due to pain etc) an we only have a powder-room(sink an potty hubby had installed in a closet we never used) anyhow before we had moved down i was taking showers cuz i couldnt  fit in old cast iron tub anymore.. an shower ing with shower doors was even uncomfy.. but the other day he was up stairs cleaning the attic an i decided i wanted a shower an i felt up to it.. an wasnt gona let anything stop me.. so i boldly climbed the stairs made my way through our not as tiny as i remember hallway.. an into our bathroom.. sat on potty got undressed an went to get into shower.. noticed right away i wasnt bumping into doors every lil movement.. an smiled... looked down judging the size of tub.. i know u all know what i mean.. thinkin is it possible??? hmm... thought to myself ok what the hell worse case scenerio i will just have to call hubby to help me out.. so i sat down in tub an i wasnt squished like a sardine..  matter of fact i had room.. not a lot of room but roooooooom.... so i ran a bath instead of shower.. was sittin in it thinkin how nice it felt to just relax in the ho****er after this cold dry winter... an layed back not thinkin anything of it an ended up almost completly submerged.... i sat up suddenly an thought WHOOOA! did that just happen.. layed back down an called  for hubby... he came runnin thought i had slipped or something.. i opend shower door an said look.. he said.. i dont ever remember u being able to lay down in the tub an soak... i said i know thats why i called for u..... he said WOW... keep up the great work tootsie. an went back to cleaning  needless to say i stayed in the tub for over an hour or so.. lol im still pre-op too so i cant begin to imagine the wow's to come.. that one made my week tho..

Peggy I am proud of you. Thank you for sharring I know for any "normal" person they would never understand the wows. Doesn't it feel wonderful when we see an actual difference in are body's. I know just being able to bend down and pick up things is a blessing, shave my legs, tie my shoes straight on. Go walking and feel so good afterwords and fitting in the stalls at public bathrooms we take all of this for granit. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharring, these little things we share really gives support to others going through the same thing. Bless you Tammi

I have a teeny weenie 4 ft tub but I sat in it too recently just because I could.  It's shallow and sucks but I fit now!

Congratulations!  I can totally relate to the small shower door thing,  I thought I was going to get stuck in my cousin's (COFFIN!!!) shower stall last year.  I was literally smashed in there and had to leave the door open a crack.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

Congratulations. How cool it that?

I'm still wary of my tub.
