Update... I did it!!!

Hey there,

Thanks for everyone who gave me some encouragement for my presentation tonight!!!  It turned out great.  Everyone really seemed to like my presentation.  I talked about the good and bad, and about how I have been down lately, but that by sharing my journey I am actually feeling better about myself.  Both pre-op and post-ops were there and complimented me on my presentation.  I even cried a little when I talked about some of my WOW moments.  My hubby was there for support and to answer questions as well. 

Thanks again.... I really appreciate everyone here... it really does feel like another family!!

I  wish I would have heard  stories from post op's before surgery.  I didn't know anyone or go to a support group.  I'm sure those newbies were so glad to hear what it's really like post op.  I didn't know  about you guys here on OH till I was a few weeks out and poking around on the internet out of boredom.  What an awesome support system this is. 

Great wow moment for you.
Congrats - that takes a lot of courage to get in front of a group like that.

YAY Caroline!  I'm proud of you for going and being real.  Preops and post ops need to know that this is truly a journey and that there will be ups and downs and that not all things happen like we think we will.  They probably really appreciated that you were very honest and that there are stalls and down times.  The post ops probably were encouraged to know that they are not alone in their thinking at times either.  Overall, you portrayed this as a great life change with WOW moments.  You were real.
