JOINING A GYM

Ooh, Marilyn...what a fabulous idea!  I'd love to go with you to water aerobics at the Puyallup Y some time.  This week is kind of hectic, but maybe sometime next week?  Thanks to the clothing swap last week, I'm set with suits for at least a few months.  In fact, do you think you could use my "old" suit?  It's a black swim dress with separate briefs.  it's a Junonia size 4 (a very generous 30/32).  It's been used less than 10 times and is in great shape.  Send me a PM or email me at [email protected] so that we can discuss these things and maybe the possibility of you taking more of my "old" clothes.

I've been a gym member a couple times in my life. My experience is that everyone is mostly in their own world. The first time is scary but after that it's easy. Another thing I would suggest is a gym close to you with classes that work with your schedule.
The second gym I joined had an inside pool with hot tub and sauna. I was one of the smallest women in the morning water aerobics class! It felt very comfortable and easy to do since the water supported my joints. I loved that hour in the class and then the sauna and then the hot tub..they also had daycare for my then young son..it was such a nice me treat.
I'm waiting for my incisions to heal up and I'm going to be going to the local pool 3 nights a week for deep water aerobics. I can't wait.

Awesome Possum!  I knew that the coat would fit better in little time and hope it works to keep you warm through our "Seattle Winter".

Thanks to everyone for your replies.  My first choice is the Y (I had a membership a few years ago and felt very comfortable there) but I can't recall if they have a sauna and if I recall correctly, they were uber expensive.  I'm thinking about Bally's as DH's insurance offers a good package at a discount.  I'd be going mostly during week day hours at least to start so I don't know that I'd run into a gaggle of pretty people/muscle heads.  Does anyone have experience with Bally's?
