My pre-op diet is an adkins advantage shake 3-4 times a day with one veggy only meal to replace the 4th shake.  I start Saturday.  I figure I can do anything for 10 days, but it seems like it is going to be really hard.

So does anyone have any tips for making it easy?  Also, those shakes (I have tried vanilla and mocha) are not super tastey.  Anyway to improve the flavor of them without adding cals?

Awww the good ole liquid diet ... ugh!  It's the worst part of everything if you ask me. I had to do it for 14 days but got excited and started a week early ... what was I thinking?

How about heating the drink (if it's ok) or maybe adding some sugar free coffee syrups to it? Or blend it with some ice for a slushy type drink.

Best wishes as you begin your journey!!!

You can improve the taste of any liquid diet product by adding a couple of spoonfuls of nonfat, sugar free instant pudding mix and mixing well.  It adds negligible calories, and you can eat it with a spoon so you can feel like you're having real food.
