wow! yesterday was my 4 year WLS anniversary. hard to believe 4 years have gone by. statistically, my bmi 4 years ago was 66 - BMI now is 24; weight 4 years ago was 463 -- weight now is 166. 4 years ago i wore size 6X. today i wear size 8 pants. 4 years ago, i needed 2 seats on an airplane - now i have extra space in one. 4 years ago, it was difficult to turn the steering wheel in my vehicle as my stomach was pressed up against the wheel - now there's a huge space between my body and the wheel. 4 years ago i couldn't climb a single flight of stairs without gasping for breath - now i always take the steps - multiple flights - just cause i can!

i can walk for miles; i can sit in booths; i can sit on any kind of chairs without fear of collapse; i can climb ladders; i can sit on the floor - and get back up again!

i have normal blood pressure without medication.

this is not an easy journey -- it's a struggle. but i believe it to be a struggle that is well worth the effort. my only regret is that i didn't take this control of my life till i was 48 years old. wish i had done it sooner -- i missed out on a lot in those years.

but i'm not missing out anymore!
