I started at 426lbs.  I looked at your profile and I really hope you do well on your WLS journey.  Living life to the fullest is so important.  For years I was bound by my physical self and my addiction to food.  I found surgery to be incredibly liberating.  I will send you postive thoughts and prayers.  Good luck on your journey!

Hi there!  I'm sorry that I did not start at 600....I did start at 500 and before I started my journey I had very bad mobility issues to the point I was almost in a wheelchair.  I wish you all the success in the world.

Hi! I am over 600 lbs and looking to have wls in NC. The doctors that I have been in contact with have said that I am too big. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.  Thanks!

Hi  Lisabelle,
What WLS are you interested in? May I recommend you come over to the DS board http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ds/ you can introduce yourself. There's a lot of great people over there  I personally weigh 510 and looking into having the Duodenal Switch (DS). You also can write me a message if you would like.

Hi Lisa,
My name is Bobbi Jo and I live in the state of Maine.  I am not in NC but I did go through the same experience here at my local hospital.  When I started the program the highest BMI they would do is a 80 and they made me go through the whole program up til meeting with a surgeon and then they told me I was too heavy for surgery and that I would need to lose near to 100lbs before I could move forward, so I can sympathize with you completely.  I did give up after feeling like the rug had been pulled out from underneath me.  Now almost 2 years later I just started with a new psychiatrist and she mentioned there are other hospitals in my state who do surgery on people with higher BMI's , well I went online and there are only about 1 1/2 hours away from me.  I would have to lose 21 lbs to get under 500 lbs but I can do that I think.  I wouldn't give up if I was you.  Just keep doing research online and here to see if someone can help you.  I almost guarentee there are other doctors who will do your surgery.  Don't give up or stop asking questions until you get results.  Good Luck to you.  Bobbi Jo
