Excited!!!
I missed the most important word...EXCESS..so I now know my below info is WRONG...but anything is possible right???
Please help me figure this out....I Just read a post that states weightloss is APPROX 70%(to be successful) I was under the impression that if I lost 30% I was lucky,so If I am
400lbs(hell I am off by 2 lbs) and I loose 70% that is 280 lbs making me 120???? Please help me here, because I don't EVER wanna weight 120lbs.
So if I loose 30% I will weight 280lbs and 50% gets me to my goal weight of 200lbs and if I go 55% can be in onderland and weight 180?????
Am I doing this right it sounds to good to be true and it is 3:47am and my brain may not be working well as I am dealing with my Grandfathers stroke so maybe I am way off on the numbers.
If I could be 180lbs I am going to have to pray that my head does not get too big
b/c I will be fierce...lol... I should also note I am 5'8" with a large frame and I think the ideal weight for me is 167
??? and if I loose 41.75% or 42% which gives me 168 I am healthy??? OH My and why am I not doing my preop correctly???
I am following Drs order as of tomorrow and live as pre-op as instructed been making excuses b/c I am still deciding on which surgery
but I have 30lbs to loose b4 surgery anyway ,so those bring all the percentages up actually to get to those calculated weights. PLEASE tell me if I am fantasizing about these numbers someone please give me correct numbers if I am wrong
I am going to post this around just to be sure

I thiink you are a little bit off here... I was told we can expect to lose 70-80% of our EXCESS body weight, no our actual weight.
So here are my calculations for you
Based on your height of 5'8" your ideal body weight is 164 (according to a chart I found on the internet).
If you are at 400# now, that means your excess weight is 236# (400-164 = 236)
70% of 236 is 165.2 (this is what you can expect to lose)
400 - 165.2 = 234.8
This is not written in stone, you may lose more or less depending on how you follow the rules, your body etc. It is possible for you to get to your ideal weight of 164.
Hope this makes sense and helps you out!!

Tried to go to your profile page. Couldn't find it . would like to be a friend Elaine. Have had 2 sisters to have wls and they both lost about 75% of their body fat. One was 315lbs and lost down to 150 the othet was about 395 and she lost down to 205 but she ate a lot of candy. I am going thru the process to get wls and I weigh 535 I am hoping to release at least half if not more.
Well I am glad I was able to help, so it is good to know a dumb question to one can get significant information that can help oneself and others. Glad I was up going crazy @ 3:47am to make this post to get such great info...lol...Wow, you are doing great can I add you as a friend you are inspiration!!!!
