Major NSV (and slightly sad)...

I went to Catherine's tonight because I heard they were havingsome major clearance sales. I went to the 2X rack and grabbed a few things off that rack to try on expecting that they might be a little tight on me.

Uhm not even close, they were actually too big. So I went and grabbed a few 1X items instead. i found some t-shirt style shirts that were $7.98 and then another 60% off. So I thought I would grab some 0X sizes and buy them even if they were too small now.

So I tried on the 1x shirts and a few of them were too big!! I was completely shocked!!! The 0X were a little tight, but I bought the cheaper ones to grow into.

A little over 4 months ago I was wearing a 4X or 5X from Catherines and pretty soon I wont even be able to wear their 0X. Even though the thought of not *having* to shop in a plus sized store is awesome, I am also a little sad. I havent been in there since shortly after surgery and I dont think the sales woman (who has worked there for probably 10 years) recognized me. Just a very strange experience overall...

Great WOW moment...I totally understand how it is a little sad too... Catherines has been a staple place to shop for like the last 15 years for me too, and soon I won't be able to go there either!!!

Kelly, you are at about the point that I stopped shopping at Catherines.  The clothes were just too big for me there.  And that's when I discovered the right fit pants at Lane Bryant.  They are expensive, but my waist is about 15 inches smaller than my hips so I have issues!  Now, I'm on the smallest Lane Bryant right fit size and don't even wear the shirts at Lane Bryant.

soon, you'll be shopping in the regular sized stores in the mall!  It's such a great feeling!

I was just having a similar thought not too long ago.  I have been shopping at Lane Bryant for so long that I will miss everyone there.

It is a great feeling!!  You really need to try some of the other stores.  Like JC Penny, or Sears.  They have women's sizes and they have some great sales going on now!  Also, if you have a Fashion Bug, they have the sized just right pants.  I have the same issue as someone else with the smaller waist (What a concept!) and the pants fit beautifully

I did actually find some pants yesterday at JCPenney. What a feeling that was. A size 20 pants. No elastic waist!!!

I know isn't it amazing being able to shop in a "real" store?!?  You can now pick clothes because you like the color or the fit not just because it comes in "your size."
