Plateau

My surgery was September 19, 2007 and I have lost 200 lbs. I have only lost a few pounds since October.  Has anyone had a plateau that has lasted this long? I have a feeling I am going to have to try harder to get the last thirty to forty pounds off.  Any suggestions?  I know I should exercise and it would probably help.

I am in awe of you, what a terrific weight loss.  You are just going to have to stick with it I think.  Maybe increase your exercise, can't think of too much else, if you are sticking to plan.

I had my surgery in early november and was pretty much stuck from September - November. Gain a pound, lose a pound, gain a pound, lose a pound.  Net loss .5 pounds for 3 months.  Clothing sizes definitely dropped, but no poundage lost on the scales.

Are you tracking your caloric intake?  You said you should exercise, and that is key,  not only for kick starting your losing again, but it's also very important for long-term maintenance.  I know for many people, you could have up to around 15 pounds of excess skin on your frame and nothing will help that but surgery.
