Don't like biggest Looser am I nuts
ur not alone... u should read... the previous post a few post down in this forum.. What's Happening To Me?? its all about those shows.. well an more... lol
I'm of a different mindset. I think that while they are very unrealistic in how they go about the contestants losing weight, I know that the show has inspired thousands to lose weight. So much so that thebiggestloser.com has gone from a free website to a paid website with a membership fee. The show is very popular and I believe they do a good job at selecting people who will relate to most everyone who is suffering from being overweight.
I never felt like they were exploiting the contestants at all even through the latest controversy. Why does it take the heavier BMI contestants to appear on the show to cause so much controversay?
So, I may be in the minority on this board, but I find the show inspirational and I rarely miss an episode.

Kathy...i love the biggest loser. I find it an inspiration!
14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey. I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.
My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once. I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

I watched it a few years ago a couple times but I stopped watching the night they pressured a man to work out till he was puking in the bushes. That's a bit much.
I would agree with Stella and I don't think that they are realalistic they devote 24/7 to excersizing and they have profesional people to come in and cook for them and what not and how is that even posible for any of us to stop our daily lives to work out all the time and for us to hire someone to cook for us. My mom keeps tellin me that if they can do it so can I and I don't think that she understands that they can cuz thats all they have to do is excersize and let people cook for them it would be interesting to see if people from the first season or whatnot were able to keep the weight off once they got back to reality.
On the second to last episode of The Biggest Loser: Families, trainer Bob mentioned that Season 1 winner, Ryan weighed as much today as he did when he first came to the house, indicating he had gained all the weight back and saying he had "learned nothing."

What I did not like was that trainer Bob said this just shows RNY is not the solution, you need to change your habits.
No it is not a solution, it is a tool that makes people have a better chance at a health life than diet and exercise alone. I won't argue the statistics, we all know them. It just shows his ignorance that he would dismiss a surgey that has a proven success for many people.
How can he compare 16 hrs a day to exercise in a dedicated environment to a man who obviously disregarded the doctors instructions post-op. The show previously excluded anyone that had surgical weightloss procedures, I honestly don't think it is fair to even have him in there against the other contestants.
