Gym is Open - thunderthighs tuesday

So how did we all do yesterday.  It seemed like there was a lot more activity than normal in the fitness world!  I did well with my eating and exercise was good for me so I'm feeling great.

My son left to go back to Hollywood yesterday and about 7pm, he called and he was lost!  I then found out my DH didn't provide him with detailed maps which is really irritating because he is so anal-retentive about this stuff.  I had to instill fear in him to pull over and get a hotel instead of continuing to drive.  I think he's in Madisonville, TX off of highway 45 in TX.

Today will be legs and back for me and I know I will be sore in the morning!  I haven't really worked out my legs with the exception of elliptical or treadmill in a long time.  I'm going to be moaning and groaning in the am.

So will you move to lose today?

I stayed home from work today so no gym for me.... but the DH has a weight bench and some weights that are gathering dust in the spare bedroom, I think I'll go irritate my pecs or biceps or something in a minute, LOL

I went to the gym twice yesterday. Before work and last night at 7pm.

Today I go see my trainer at 6:30pm. Tomorrow you may or may not see me on Snapped.

OMG I still have thunder thighs!!!!  at my bigest I had 40" thighs and now they are just a pile of jelly.....they are so bad that they knock me off my balance when I walk.  unfortunately we're getting an ice storm today so most of my exercise is going to be going up and down my stairs in the house from doing laundry.

I somehow have a hard time picturing a man with thunderthighs.  I am totally carrying most of my excess weight in my thighs and hips.  Not a fun situation.  Stair climbing is such a great workout.  I lost 8 pounds in 9 days when I was in NYC and I'm pretty certain that it was from climbing up and down all the subway stairs!

I am not working out today. Either I have a stomach virus or it was the roughest morning in memory. I didn't go to work but went back to sleep. I woke up at 6:00, 6:40, and 7:30 to throw up. Then I slept until 9:30. I think (hope) I'm ok now sippling some ice cold water and keeping my fingers crossed.

When I lay on my side and lift my leg up straight I can grab a handful of skin that "runs" down my thigh and pools in my groin. Sexy eh? Hahahahaaa

I walked for 30 min on my treadmill today.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

Hi Kathy,

I have been lazy about reporting my gym stuff.  I haven't been able to workout since the 31st because our granddaughter has been in the hospital with a very severe stomach virus, and we have been taking turns helping out with her.  I missed 2 of the classes I was to teach because of her illness, so today was my first day back to teaching Aquafit.  We did 10 minutes warm up, 5 stretching/cool down and 45 HARD minutes of cardio and abs.  My legs are sore tonight from the cardio/conditioning segment.

I am to begin 6 sessions with a personal trainer beginning next tuesday.  I want to be in the best shape possible for my thighplasty surgery, and I want to make sure my legs are in good shape.

One good thing about going to work at OMG o'clock is that it's getting me used to getting up at dawn, so when I return to the gym on Monday, I'll be all set.

I was chained to my veal pen all day and didn't get in my 15 minutes of walking.  GRR.

PS, Mom, you are no fun!  Part of the fun of being young and driving long distances is to tank up on coffee and see just how many hundreds of miles you can drive in one sitting!  When I was in my early 20s, I made it from CA to MD in three days.  I couldn't possibly do it now, it I don't stop every few hundred miles, I get cross.  Sigh, the thrills of old age!
