Gym's Open - First Monday of New Year & New You!
Good morning all! Let me first start off with a blanket confession that I ate like crap over the holidays and I'm paying for it. I didn't over-indulge, but I ate things I should not have eaten and frequently.
Now that's off my chest...I'm back on track and ready to ROCK AND ROLL THIS YEAR! I've set a goal to be in onederland by the end of June and right now, that's a pretty hefty goal (excuse the pun). I've got 40 pounds to go.
But it's back to the basics and since it's only been 10 days, it shouldn't be too hard to overcome any bad habits.
On a sad note, my son left for Hollywood again this morning. He packed up his room
, loaded up his car and rolled off into the fog this morning. It's a long drive from P'cola to Hollywood. He's driving to San Angelo today to pick up another guy and then he'll have a companion to ride with.
I start school today, ugh. We have big decisions to make at work this week. But I'm like a duck. I'm going to let it all roll down my back.
Now for the real reason of the post! The gym's open...will you move to lose today.
I've decided that I will focus on strength training with a quick warm up in the mornings and then do cardio when I get home from work. We'll see how that plan works. I know I've got to kick my metabolism up a notch and building more muscle will help to do that. So today was triceps/biceps/chest and shoulders along with abs for 45 minutes.

Aww - sadness about the kid leaving. I'm with you on the bad choices made throughout the holidays. I won't beat myself up over it because it wasn't horrible (pre-surgery would have been called a COMPLETE DISASTER) but it still wasn't planned and as healthy as I would have liked.

I feel like my weight has slowed down a lot and I'm trying to bump my body back in gear. We'll see how it goes.
Right now I'm sucking eggs because for two weeks I've been off work and I've been a Professional Napper so I'm really craving a nap right now. But, such is life.

I will do an hour this evening - 40min cardio, 20 weights
My only goal for the new year is to add some sort of free weight/exercise to my workday cardio routine, so....
30 mins of recumbent bike, book and me time
15 mins of free weight work... fly aways... my pecs doth complain.... LOL

My goal is to simply get back on track with exercise!!! I was doing great, prior to the weather changing, but since then, my exercise has fallen off drastically.
So today, my coworker and I did 10 flights (up and down) of stairs and some additional walking for a total of 35 minutes. We did 5 flights up, walked around the top of the parking ramp and then down and then 5 flights back up, walked around and down again. The stairs are enclosed, so it is a bit warmer.

I did 30 min on my treadmill this morning...then I went to the WAL MART and walked around shopping for an hour (got some good Xmas clearance deals)
My resolution is to join a GYM with my sister. We are still looking for a deal at a place with fellow fat folks. I don't want to be the only one in a room full of spandex clad soccer Moms! Ahhh! Lol.
