Hmm, weird. The reasoning might be that you need less protein now that you are at a lower weight, BUT its definitely not the standard advice most surgeon's give, in my experience, and it is most certainly not what my surgeon wanted. He pushes the protein hard in his SMO patients.
Don't skimp no matter what they tell you, It's not worth the risk...I was having scary heart problems when I skimped on my protein intake for a while (busy...holidays...STUPID!!!) I re-upped my intake recently and I am trouble free again. I learned the hard way. I was in the ER 3x thinking I was going to have a heart attack. It was protein related apparantly. Heather sent me samples of a couple powders I can get down evwn on BAD days (I ordered BOTH kinds today! Thanks again!!!)
So I have been taking in enough daily and I feel amazing. No palpatations, no skipping beats. I think because protein regulates muscle function it can affect the heart. That's my theroy anyway...doctors insist it was unrelated but I am still unconvinced.
