Good morning peeps

I hope all is well. I am sleepy but I couldn't sleep anymore. Ok here is the next of my random health complaints (sorry). For the last TWO weeks I've been waking up with a headache, just like I did when I had apnea and high blood pressure.

Blood pressure is fine, I've checked it repeatedly. I've also asked my husband about a thousand times if he's SURE I don't snore anymore. I even threw ye old CPAP on the other night but it didn't seem to help and just made me feel like I was going to pop because the pressure was a bit high.

When I get paid I'm going to buy a new pillow because my neck has been kind of stiff. The only other thing I can think of is that my husband is so warm that I am overheating at night.

I am well-hydrated, extra well hydrated since I started getting headaches actually, I've been drinking at least 100oz per day. I had blood work about a month ago and it was good.

Any ideas (besides seeing my doc, yes I know - I owe him a lot of money because insurance didn't cover my blood work a while back, pre-existing condition clause *****es)  and I'm not sure how much they'll ask for. I don't really want to find a new doctor just because of that though.

So anyway, my head hurts.

For food today... ummm.... I am floating in an ocean of no plan and also no groceries

B - a slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter and subsequently about 30min later 16 oz mootopia

L - ? meat of some sort, perhaps in salad form

D - ?

S - mootopia most likely, possibly in protein shake form or with some coffee

I woke up feeling queasy and still can feel my stomach at bit.  I could not get down my whole cup of coffee and my stomach sounded like it was hosting the Super Bowl.  I hope it eases because I am now feeling a bit hungry and I have leftovers to eat.  We know grouchy pouchy doesn't necessarily like leftovers!

B - 1/2 cup decaf coffee
S - palmful of nuts
L - mushroom jack fajitas - leftover from yesterday
S - kashi bar
D - sloppy joes made with ground turkey

Not sure what to tell you.  I've been waking up the same way, but I'm almost certain my issue is hydration.  Perhaps the rapid change in weather that you have been going through with freezing cold and perhaps snow then 70's last week.  sinuses?

I don't know if you read my post in the gym thread today.  I blacked out in the shower at the gym today.  Scary!  I checked my BP about 20 minutes later on the one at the gym that does your forearm and it was 114/100 and my heart rate was 69.  Both docs told me to go to urgent care clinic.  When I got there, they wouldn't see me and told me to go to the emergency room.  Of course I didn't go.  I checked BP at CVS pharmacy and it was 114/74 and heart rate was 71.  I have a headache and I've drank till I can't drink anymore today.

B - Fiber one with 1/2 banana and skim milk
S - NSA skinny cow fudgesicle
L - 1/2 roasted chicken breast sandwich minus the top bun
S -25 chocolate covered raisins organic made with non-refined sugar
D - sirloin steak, steamed broccoli
S - 100 calorie popcorn bag or SF pudding or NSA diced peaches or Deli roast beef
all depends where my protein is for the day.

I hope you can get to the bottom of these morning headaches!

Its most likely one of three things - blood sugar, blood pressure, or dehydration. The first one can be alleviated by a protein/carb pre-workout snack, and if you need it something afterwards too (protein preferably). The last one can be alleviated with some water and probably some electrolytes. Blood pressure, you are going to have to specifically test for orthostatic hypotension.

Have your readings taken a few times laying and sitting and immediately upon standing. Also my doc tested me after exercising, resting laying down, and then standing again since that's when I fainted.  Twenty minutes later when you tested it wouldn't show up. Your adrenaline would be up from fainting. If it was low blood sugar it probably would have shown up still, especially if you used up all your glycogen exercising, but blood pressure definitely not.  Are you having a lot of dizzy spells? I was. Constantly. Especially when I got warm in a bath or shower. I went through a period where I sat down in the shower at some point almost every morning because I felt faint.  I do have orthostatic hypotension, but look on the RNY boards and you'll see like half the people there complaining of the same thing. Most report that it goes away. Mine has mostly, although I got a twinge over Christmas while I was taking a bath. I was going to rinse off in the shower and then when I went to stand up I felt it and decided to lay back down in the bath and run some cold water.

In the meantime once you have that woozy fuzzy feeling once you can at least identify it right away. As soon as it starts to happen get on the ground or sitting somewhere ASAP so you don't have far to fall. If you sit, put your head low, between your legs, until it passes. My best cure in the shower was to lay down, turn the water to cool, and let the shower spray on me.

I hope it was a one time thing! Good luck!
