Holy Crap! I am no longer in the "Over 50 BMI" category! Can I stay guys? Lol.

Holy crap! It's hard for me to believe but I am under the 50 BMI mark. When did that happpen? I really wasn't paying attention. I just used the BMI calculator and I am currently at 48! WOW!

The holidays were hard but I made it through alive and no dumping. I did eat a pierogi (I am Polish) and that went OK. It was filled with farmers cheese which is like a dry cottage cheese. I usually make potato cheese but thought the farmers cheese type would be lower in carbs. They are homemade. They are delicious. I was afraid i would want to go nuts so I gave them all away after our family brunch. I did make cookies but only enough to make the cookie plates I give out. I like to bake and it saves money on gift buying. I ate three cookies total. I think I did Ok.

Jenn and I (my sister) are joining a Gym next month! I can't wait! I am not intimidated a all any longer. I formerly belonged to the BAC for women (years ago) and I loved it! At my high weight I couldn't have worked out even if I had wanted to (I didn't) but now I feel like I can do anything...go anywhere. It's amazing. I am so HAPPY! Happier than I have been in about 9 years.

You don't realize what you are willing to settle for in life 'till you have moved past it and looked back I guess. I was not living before. I was existing. Sad.

Start: 487 lbs (8/07) Lost 81 lbs pre op on South Beach. 406 lbs at surgery (6/08). 179 post op, by 2011. I  lost 308 lbs. Gained 98 while pregnant (2012-13) lost all but 25. My goal is to be 179 again!

Congrats!!  It's a great feeling to be out of the "50" zone isn't it!!!  Sounds like you did great over the holidays.  I did fair also.  I had about 3 cookies total over the 2 days of family stuff.  I took really small bites of about 4 different kids of cookies, but never ate the whole thing.  I stuck to the protein at dinner, turkey, ham, and prime rib, with a few veggies!!!!  I had a little bit of trouble after dinner while we were all sitting around playing cards.  I really wanted to snack on all of the sweets, but I stayed strong.  I ended up having just a little bit of summer sausage and cheese as a snack.

Keep up the good work!!

Caroline

Great Job. I am almost under 50 as well. I was wondering the same thing. Can I stick around?

That is awesome!!!!!!!!  I stayed away from the sweets - anything I ate I made it was sugar free and lower calorie.  I caught alot of crap from my family who did not think I was eating enough - whatever.  Dinners I stuck to protein and veggies and a tiny serving of carbs.

Congrats!  What a great feeling.  I remember when I did that and it was an awesome day!

I sure hope there's no kicking anyone out after they drop out of 50!  There are people on here who are at their goal weight and are a wealth of information for all of us.
