It's only 7 AM and I've already had a sucky day.  How can it be?

I woke up to find that our street was quite slick and icy, so I opted to mooch a ride into town from my sister (whose SUV has better traction than my mature Honda on slick, hilly surfaces).  To be honest, I'm also a puzzy about driving in the snow.

So. as we headed to town and to my office building, wouldn't you know it, the streets over here are dry as a bone.  I felt foolish.

Came into the building, got settled into my veal pen, opened up my tub o'hot tea to fish out the teabags, and poured about 48 oz of hot tea all over me, the floor, the partition, the desk, and about eight contracts.

Oy.

Can I go home and have a do-over, or would it just be like the movie "Groundhog Day"?

PS:  A nice thing that happened to me today is that I'm 3 lbs thinner, yay!

Hey 3 lbs thinner is awesome!!

I have more than once freaked out about the roads based on what it looks like outside my window only to find out the main roads are perfectly drivable.  People used to tease me when I worked and act like it was snowing really bad outside just to get me going.  I fell for it everytime.  I don't mind the snow in my yard but I don't want to drive on it.  LOL

Being from the very south of Louisiana I always wish for snow.  However, this country bumpkin wouldn't know the first thing about driving in it so it is probably best that the most we usually get is the occasional frost on the grass.

Don't feel bad we all have those kinds of days. Mine was definitely yesterday. Woke up it was freezing in the house turned on the heater got the kids up and ready for school and we were off. Dropped Matthew off at my mothers house to catch the school bus (they don't provide one for my neighborhood since we are less than 2 miles from the school --yeah have him walk to school in Houston think not!) then I took Joey to Elementary school and dropped him off. Stopped at HEB for Mootopia milk (they were out!) and when I got home my house was on fire. Called 911 and they came rather quickly. The heater started an electrical fire in the attic, thank god that we have a fire wall and all that was damaged was in the attic other than the burnt smell in the entire house. We are without heat and that is the sucky part. Damage is over $5K dollars, but fortunately we don't own the house and are renting, so we are waiting to see how long it takes land lord to fix.

Yikes!  You win!  My day really isn't that bad after all.

Years ago on Christmas Day, my boneheaded neighbor in the downstairs apt put her fireplace offals in a box next to her front door and set the stucco on fire.  Nothing like dashing outside in
your bathrobe, although I will say the firemen who came to put out the fire were smokin hawt themselves!

I hope you have renters' insurance!

Hugs,
Kix

Mmm firemen. We had a ridiculously hot fireman as our neighbor a while back. He gave me inappropriate dreams... repeatedly. I poured a pan of boiling water on my chest and stomach a few weeks ago, thankfully it was not all that much water, I stripped fast, and the burns were minimal. Be careful!

I always worry about fires in the winter. Scary!!

Holy moly!!  You do win for sure.  I just came back to feel sorry about my christmas lights fiasco but I think that it could be worse now.  I sure hope that the landlord will feel generous and fix it soon.  The smell must be god awful though.  Sorry for you!!

Oy, indeed.  I hate days like that - seems like once things start to go wrong, they just keep going wrong.  Makes me want to reach for chocolate.  And maybe a beer or two.  Or maybe both.  Me, use food and/or alcohol as a coping mechanism?  Why do you ask???

I hope your day got better, Kix!  And yeah on the 3 pounds thinner - way to go - I'll drink to that
