Shout Out -- What Are You Thankful for This Year?
The oldies here on the board remember that we have done this in past years, and I'd like to keep the tradition rolling.
Here are some of the things I am thankful for this year:
1. I am thankful our pal Jandell and her family have the opportunity to spend precious time with their mother while their mother's health still permits it.
2. I am deeply thankful to have found a full time job in this wobby economy, and to be working with a group of people who get along well as a work group.
3. I am thankful I have dental insurance now that I need all my ancient fillings replaced!
4. I am thankful that my health issues appear to be over and done with.
5. I am thankful to be living a normal, boring life. I remember when my life was not normal, and I never knew from one minute to the next when another health issue would flare up.
6. I am thankful to those at my HMO's bariatric program who went the extra mile to help me achieve my goal of having WLS.
7. I am thankful for supportive friends here on the board, some of whom are very adept at kicking my azz when it needs to be kicked!
8. I am (mostly) thankful for my family, except when they drive me crazy.

Some things I'm thankful for this year -
1. For my great family, who has always been there for me and continues to be there for me.
2. For fabulous friends, who offered so much support and encouragement when my life turned upside down this summer.
3. Oddly enough, I'm thankful my life turned totally upside down this summer. The end result of the chaos is that (a) I have a new job that I really like, (b) I'll have finished two rounds of plastic surgery before the end of 2008 to get rid of my excess skin, and (c) although I'm sad that my 14+ year relationship ended this past summer, I'm thankful I had the courage to recognize that it was no longer a good, healthy relationship for me and that it was time to move on.
4. For being reasonably financially stable in such uncertain economic times.
5. For the continuing support of my friends here at OH - you all understand me in a way that other folks who haven't had WLS do not, and it's so comforting to know we're all here for each other.
6. For my dear friend and roommate, FDW, who has been my rock during the past 6 months. Don't know what I'd do without her, and am glad I didn't have to find out!!!
