Hi everyone. I have been on obesityhelp for a while now but never knew about this forum. Someone told me about it yesterday. So, i wanted to pop in and see how things go here. I have a BMI wayyyy over 50. It is 78. I have 300+ pounds to lose and i am looking for support from people who have had surgery or are going to have surgery and who is going to have to lose as much weight as i do. Actually any support from anyone would be great. I do have a support system but my family, does not know what i go through. It is especially hard for me during the holiday season because i lost my mom during the holiday season back in 92...So needless to say i do eat to try and ease the pain and make me think of something else. That isn't a good thing to do but thats the only way i know of right now to deal with my problems. I have been doing better though. I try to keep busy with my kids and also i just started going to college. Which i can say i am extremely proud of doing that. Sorry if i sound conceited...lol...Ok anyways, if anyone is interested in chatting on the phone or email wise please let me know. I am more then willing to offer my support to anyone who needs it as well. Take Care everyone!!!!....Emelinda

Welcome to the BMI Over 50 Forum!!!

There's a great group of folks here, although the board hasn't been super busy lately.

Good luck going back to school. You should be proud. That's so hard to do after you have kids and other responsibilities.

Take care,

Patti

Welcome to Over 50~land!

Most of us had a long way to go, or have come along way and those folks provide great inspiration for the rest of us. There is so much awesome support here. Good people

Hi Emelinda,

Welcome to the board. There are several of us that started with BMIs very high. Mine was 83. We have a wonderful individual here (Kix) who has lost 300lbs. Its doable. I am struggling, but she and others provide great inspiration.

I wish you all the best and hope to see you posting around here a lot more :)
