Got verbal approval from ins for 2nd round of plastics!!!
My surgery is scheduled for 12/16/08; I need to wait for my surgeon's office to get the written approval from my insurance company before they will schedule my pre-op appointments and tell me what the cost is for the arm lift. But I have approval and a surgery date, so know the rest of it will fall into place in due course.
I wanted to take a minute to say thanks to all the folks who offered support and encouragement while I was recovering from my tummy tuck. It's so nice to know there are folks who understand where I've come from and just what an important step this is for me. You all get me in a way that very few other people understand, and I'm really glad to be part of this community -

I'm trying to keep my big-girl panties pulled up and be brave about going under the knife again so soon. Am also apologizing to my body for doing so much to it in such a short period of time. I keep promising it that I'll continue to eat healthy and that I'll get back to exercising it as soon as I can as long as it does it's part and heals well...
Thanks again -
Kellie
Right now, my insurance will pay for removal of excess skin from the abdomen and breasts with a sustained weight loss of 80 pounds. It doesn't matter if you had WLS or lost it on your own. That's the broadest, most generous coverage I've ever heard of.... Which is probably why my company is changing the coverage next year, so removal of excess skin will only be covered w/ proof of medical necessity (chronic rashes, infection, back pain, shoulder pain, etc.). I haven't had any problems that would constitute "medical necessity," so I had to get everything that's covered done this year, or pay for it all myself.
Anyway, I'm just grateful that I learned about our coverage change in time to get in two rounds of surgery....
