Hello!
Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself as a person who's BMI was over 50 when I started my journey. My highest weight was 500, my surgery weight was 448 and I am 309 after being 6 months post op :) It's nice to know people that are out there that have started from high points like myself.
So.....howdy!
So.....howdy!

Welcome!!! WOW 6months post op you are doing awsome!!! Keep it up!!! And yes I do find it easier to relate to others on this board who started out on the high side like myself.
My highest weight was 461 and now I am at 311. You almost dont want to tell people how much you have lost cause than in there heads they can only imgaine how big you once were lol.

Hi Sherry! yes I totally agree with you. I keep old pictures of myself and flash them to anyone who'll look at them to just see where I came from LOL You're doing amazingly well too! OUr surgeries weren't that far apart from each other :) It wasn't until my 6 month follow up that my surgeon actually gave me a target weight to hit.

Welcome to the board. It's nice to see the ocassional male around here, so I hope you stick around! Congratulations on your fantastic progress so far.
hi everyone, i have only just joined this forum tonite! i am a 27 year old female and live in ireland. i was weighed last friday and i am now at my heaviest weight 336lbs and am 5ft 10.
i have never been slim all through my life and my weight has gotten worse and worse over the years but in the last 7 years in particular as after the birth of my first son i had to leave work as he was so ill. i found that i was constantly eating at home in boredom/stress/worry etc and the more i ate the worse i felt and i have now become trapped in the circle. my eating patterns are terrible now. i sometimes go all day without eating and then eat into the night
its hard to get the help and support needed for overweight people in ireland and so far i am still waiting an appointment for a dietician and my gp has perscribed me reductil today.
i would be very interested in having weight loss surgery but am only in the early stages of trying to find a surgeon in ireland and the costs
best of luck to everyone here and congratulations on your success so far
hugs

Good luck with your journey. Maybe there is someone on oh who can help you find a surgeon.
