Okay I know we have had a lot of discussion about "yucky underbellies", but what about yucky belly buttons???? I have an innie belly button and I noticed yesterday that it was really red on the inside. I put my stuff on that I normally put on the underside of my belly, but it doesnt seem to be working the same.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do with it???

I find mine gets that way when i slep on my belly..
I wash and dry it and put nystain powder on it,but baby powder works to and i let it air out alittle so instead of putting my pants undr my boobs i roll them down under my belly button.
In other words my steve urkeil pants become hannah montana hip huggers for awhile.lol

I faithfully wash and dry my belly button, because it tends to get red raw and very gross...I also put hydrogen peroxide in it and clotriminizole and then ammens powder, usually clears up in a day or two...

I am finding that my skin irritations are getting worse as I get smaller than better...

Where do I get clotriminizole and ammens powder? Is the clotriminizole a creme?

I hve never had this problem before with my belly button. I am grossed out by even touching my belly button, so I am going to need to get over that so I can put meds on it.

I get both at walmart, but they can be bought in any drug store. The clotriminizole is a cream sold with the foot fungus, jock itch and sometimes the yeast infection aisle. Ammens powder is usually with other powders it is a medicated powder...The clotriminizole is usually about 5 bucks a tube but a tiny bit goes along way. You must use it on clean and very dry skin, this is why I follow up with the powder...If you put it on skin that has not been washed the cream mixed with sweat and oils and makes a very fishy smelly funk....The powder helps prevent all of this as if the skin rot wasn't bad enough...

Good luck with all of this...just keep telling yourself that it is all worth the end result...

Yep had that problem last month.  Got nystasic cream from doc's office.

I think the culprit was sitting the hot laptop on my belly and that helped the bacteria grow.  Now that I'm conscious of it, I don't put the laptop there and I make sure it's dry after showering.

Boy can i totally relate to this problem.  I had my gallbladder out 6 weeks ago, and with the weight loss and now surgery scars healing in my belly button, it is just red and gross, i hate it!  they tightened it up, so now i have to jam my finger in there to clean it, UGGGHHHH.  I'm going to use some of the suggestions for you for my own issues.  GOOD question.   Lys
