Looks like the gym didn't get opened up today, so I thought I'd help Kix out and open the gym.

I went to aquafit this morning.  The teacher today focused more on stretching and flexibility for those with arthritis.  I was able to stretch out good following the workout I taught last night and give my muscles something different to do.

I also spent some time on the wii fit, and doing lots of walking around.

I so love the fact that I can get back to the pool and exercise, and go to the gym -- I was thinking back today that there was one stretch this summer where I didn't leave my home for 1 month except to drive into West LA to see my surgeon each week.  I love being outside!  I won't ever take that for granted again.

What did you do to move your body today?

Hi Jennie!

I went to try Cardio Yoga, but the instructor didn't show up.  That was a big bummer.

So, I went to go row for a while and someone was on the machine.  I've got to stay off the elliptical for a while because my body got used to that machine.  So I did the stairmaster for 5 minutes until the rowing machine opened up. Then did 20 minutes on that.  Tuesday is a light day for me so I didn't do much.

Cardio Yoga sounds interesting. Let me know how that class goes the next time you attempt it.  I was so amazed the time I tried Pilates.  I was huffing/puffing and pouring sweat by the end.  It was SO tough!

I have a harde time on the stairmaster - my calves really hurt during stairmaster.

I had the day off a went to the pool much earlier than usual (10 am), as Clay wanted my car for an appt in the afternoon. I'm trying to start swimming in the mornings before work, as I'm bailing way too often if I wait until the evening. So this was at least a move in that direction.

Swam 1250M which is 50 lengths, which took about 45 minutes. Felt great after, but took a long nap this afternoon instead of getting stuff done. Can't do that very well if I swim before work!

Patti - great job with the swimming!  That's a LOT of laps!  Oh my, I can totally understand why you took a nap.  I love to swim, it is great cardio and strength exercise and builds a long, lean body.  Keep up the good work, and each time you swim those laps, you will be less and less tired.  Keep pushing yourself.

I'm so grateful that my Mom was a swimmer and lifeguard. I grew up at the pool and have been swimming since I could walk! It has been one exercise that I could do even at my fattest.

What do you think of wii fit? I was thinking about asking for it for Christmas.

I LOVE my wii fit!!!  I love doing the table tilt, hula hoop, and the ski slalom!!!  I was just cleared for exercise yesterday (no trainer till 6 wks) so today I did my hula and it kicked my butt.  There is aerobicss and yoga - it also tracks your weight loss.

OK, you tickled my interest - I went and checked out the wii fit. That really looks like fun! Is there a weight limit for the thing?

I had the same question Patty and no one seemed to be able to answer me.  I didn't want to be responsible for breaking someone's game because I was too fat to get on it.  Now that I am at a decent weight I can't seem to find the time to get to my niece's house and try it.
