pharmacologic stress testing??
Has any one had one of these tests? Since my weight is 443 the Cardiologist wants me to have a pharmacologic stess test because I won't be able to do the treadmill stress test for very long because of my weight. He wants me to have this and then hopefully will give me clearance for the WLS. I have had everything else done including blood work, pulmonary, physicology clearance so this is the last hurdle (I hope).

I have not - I had a left heart cath/angiogram because my weight was too high for the treadmill. I would have preferred the stress test, and I have known several people who have had one. You lay in bed and have an IV. They inject one chemical into your IV that makes your heart beat very rapidly like if you were exercising hard, and they watch your heart. Then they give you the "antidote" to return your heart to normal.
I've had varying reports, but the general consensus is that it was very disturbing and uncomfortable while it happened, but the test went by pretty quickly and they were none the worse for wear. Trust me, the angiogram would be worse!

I had it at the exact same weight you are at now. It does make you feel really weird and at some point it feels like the longest 5 minutes of your life, but the recovery drug works as quickly as the nuclear medicine and it is really odd how your body can go through so many feelings in such a short period of time. My only regret is that I sat in a wooden chair instead of a recliner to have the test done. I felt at one point that I was going to slide out of the chair. Also, when they put you in the machine to take the after pics - ask them for music. I didn't have it the first time and it felt like I was in the machine forever. The second time ... non-stress pics ... I had music and the time passed faster. Good Luck!
