Thank you!  Sometimes you just need to hear the words.  Thanks for saying them.  ;o)

two thoughts,  Have you checked out the DS? Is it covered?

Can you change surgeons? Is there another surgon your insurance will accept that might be furthur away but willing to book earlier?  Is there a local Ds surgeon who might be able to get you in sooner?

I have checked out DS, and again it's not covered.  My only insurance option is RNY, which means that it is my only option.  I can't afford otherwise.  And I'm ok with that (except the side of me that wants to scream HOW DARE THEY DICTATE TO ME).  I really don't see how a change of surgeons is possible either.  It's bad enough going as far as I have to now, much less adding to the trip by going further.  As I've worked though some of my issues, I think all of this is just a good way for me to know that I really do want to do this surgery.  I'm working so hard for it, after all of this, that it must be worth it to me.

OH WOW...I hear your frustration.  There's nothing worse than having your mind made up and then having to wait so long, with added wait time on top of that!  I understand. I think I would look into perhaps another surgeon or make my voice heard at your doctor's office as to why you were told one thing and now its all changed.  They should have put you on the books for the surgery when you started the 6 month WL program.  Maybe they could put you on a cancellation list.  I imagine there may be a few who chicken out at the last minute???  Regardless, hang in there and don't lose sight of the prize...better health!! and YES....its so worth it!   HUGS  Jeanine
