Really Sad--What am I doing wrong?

Ya, I think you all are right. It's just frustrating when I talk to others around my weight range and they have lost so much more than me. I journal everything, drink water (need to drink more) AND exercise faithfully and not to see the numbers on the scale is heart breaking! I am UP 2 pounds from yesterday...But I think you are right. I need to STOP weighing myself period! I think I am going to lock the scale in the trunk of my hubby's car, LOL...trust me I won't go out and get it because that would involve effort, haha! Someone told me to weigh once a month. I wonder if they will let me at TOPS...I go to TOPS too or shall I say going back to TOPS!!! And wonder if they would let me just weigh in once per month and that's it! I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask!

What a frustrating journey! It's like when you work SO hard or let's say you are running a marathon you know you cannot go any further and you see the finish line and it looks reachable only to get there and it wasn't the finish line and you are told its another 2 miles when you thought it was just around the corner and you give it everything you got..disappointment, LOL! I guess I need to just figure things out!

Thanks for your support. It's so much appreciated :)

Are you eating enough calories? you may need to eat more calories or drink milk for some additional liquid and calories. I know from wiegh****chers if you dont eat enough you will slow metabalism and go into starvation mode. I think you are doing fine I am three months out and have lost 72 ponds and my doctor is happy with my progress.

Congrats Bill....that is awesome weightloss!!!

I do believe I am eating enough...I have increased my 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup and try for 6x a day but I only manage 4x a day with all the liquids in between...my surgeon has a no eating/drinking rule within 1 hour of eachother. (so that is tough to try and figure out how to do it all..feel like I am on a timer, hehe)I do drink 2 glasses of skim milk a day (for protein and liquid resources) hehe. I cannot eat more than 1/3 cup or I get too full and end up feeling sick. I try to eat just protein.

On my pool days I find it harder because I am in the water for 2 hours and that messes up my schedule a bit, tee hee! But I do try my best. Today is  a bad water day though but the day is not through yet, lol.

So much to still learn and figure out huh! Life! LOL

I did not find the profile I was remembering, but I did find the info:

If you haven't seen this explanation , it is helpful:
This explanation is courtesy of Diana Cox:

Our bodies use glycogen for short term energy storage. Glycogen is not very soluble, but it is stored in our muscles for quick energy -- one pound of glycogen requires 4 lbs of water to keep it soluble, and the average glycogen storage capacity is about 2 lbs. So, when you are not getting in enough food, your body turns first to stored glycogen, which is easy to break down for energy. And when you use up 2 lbs of glycogen, you also lose 8 lbs of water that was used to store it -- voila -- the "easy" 10 lbs that most people lose in the first week of a diet.

As you stay in caloric deficit, however, your body starts to realize that this is not a short term problem. You start mobilizing fat from your adipose tissue and burning fat for energy. But your body also realizes that fat can't be used for short bursts of energy -- like, to outrun a sabertooth tiger. So, it starts converting some of the fat into glycogen, and rebuilding the glycogen stores. And as it puts back the 2 lbs of glycogen into the muscle, 8 lbs of water has to be stored with it to keep it soluble. So, even though you might still be LOSING energy content to your body, your weight will not go down or you might even GAIN for a while as you retain water to dissolve the glycogen that is being reformed and stored.
