Revision band to DS. I had plastics to take care of my jiggily bits. I'm feeling so good!! My results have been even better than I ever dreamed.
Hi Smilin!
That's so great to hear!! I'm in nearly an identical situation. Similar weight, similar BMI. I'm planning to have WLS next year and thought RNY would be better in my situation than LapBand because I want to lose quickly. Are you happy you decided on the Lapband? Any complications?
Thank you!!!
p.s., I'm new here, so please forgive my lack of profile info. I've been too excited reading the forum to stop and upload my info. =)

Hi & thank you!!
I'm thrilled with my decision to have the lap-band. I'm sure that a big part of me losing so much so quickly is because I was bigger to begin with. (At least bigger than most people who opt for the band) The biggest reason that I chose the band, is because it's adjustable... and with having so much to lose (215 pounds for my first goal) I was a little worried that it might take longer than the WL window that I'd read about with RNY. Please know, that it's completely an individuals choice to find the type of surgery that will work best for them & their lifestyle. No bashing here... all work well... it's just that the lap-band was the one that I thought that I would be most successful with for a lifetime. I'm pretty good at losing weight.. it's just the maintenance that I've had trouble with in the past. I'm hoping that with the band as my little helper tool, that I'll be successful in keeping off the weight.
I haven't had a fill yet.. and I'm hoping to hold off on having one until the losses slow down. (my reasoning, is that I have not had trouble with any foods yet, and would like to be able to eat that way for as long as possible) I make good food choices... I'm the one that gets a little exercise in daily. With those new habits, the band has been working well. It does make me feel fuller longer & it's amazing how I can eat so much less than before surgery & really honestly feel comfortable. (it's kinda weird to me
)
If you have any specific questions for me, I'm an open book. Just send me a message & I'll answer everything as best I can for you right away.
Best of luck to you & your upcoming journey!! I'm so thankful that I took a leap of faith. The only thing that I would have done differently, is I would have done it sooner!!
*hugs*
